Beeline Crowdsourced Bus Service

Description

Singapore's GovTech and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) along with a number of private and non-governmental organizations launched the Beeline app to close the gap between commuters' needs and the services offered by private bus companies by providing a feedback mechanism within the app. Their goal is to create a more responsive and efficient transport system by "crowdsourcing" bus services.

Use Case

The platform acts as a matching service between app users and private bus services. The app collects the consolidated data, which is then used to represent "community demand". The information.collected through crowdsourced route information is used to create "user suggested routes" when there is a large enough demand for such route.
